House Bill 91 - High School Diploma

 

On Monday, March 30, 2015, Governor Nathan Deal signed House Bill 91 into law, thereby creating a new code section, O.C.G.A. § 20-2-281.1. This law became effective upon the Governor's signature.

 

The law states that on or after the effective date of the law, students shall no longer be required to earn a passing score on the graduation tests to earn a high school diploma if the student has otherwise met all state and local graduation requirements.

 


Petition Process

 

An application to petition for a diploma can be obtained on the Emanuel County Schools website (www.emanuel.k12.ga.us) or by picking up a form from the Emanuel County Board of Education at 201 North Main Street, Swainsboro, Georgia.

 

All submissions should include a scanned or copied image of your government issued photo identification.  Signed applications and identification documentation should be mailed or submitted to:
