  • School Closings/Delays:

April 1, 2020 - Governor Brian Kemp has just signed an Executive Order closing all school districts for the remainder of the school year.  This is an unprecedented decision that I know was not taken lightly.  At this point, there are more questions than answers.  The Emanuel County School district will work over the next several weeks to provide answers to these questions.  We ask that our community continue to follow all recommendations regarding hand washing, social distancing and staying home when possible.  We pray everyone stays safe and healthy!

Principal's Message

Welcome to Swainsboro High School's website. At SHS, our students are safe and understand the impact they can have on the community. We employ innovative technologies and teaching strategies, and community and industry partnerships that enable us to meet our students where they are, personalize their learning, and enable them to achieve the skills and knowledge, which ensure a job or college entrance.

During the first semester of the 2018-2019 school term, we have been excited to see great things as we have visited classrooms and we look forward to what the second semester will offer. Swainsboro High School takes pride in our ability to “Grow our Students.” For the past four years, our staff of dedicated, innovative educators have earned an average of more than 90% of the points GaDOE awards for students achieving typical or high academic growth.

To our students, we hope you continue to have a great school year. We encourage you to do your best every day and make the most of the many opportunities available to you at SHS. Thank you for your hard work in and out of the classroom. Get and stay involved!

To our parents, thank you for your engagement in your child’s education and with our school. It takes everyone working together to keep Swainsboro High School energized and successful. We encourage you to say involved. Your support makes the difference between a good and great school!

To our dedicated staff, your commitment to our students is remarkable. Thank you for educating our future and giving of yourselves beyond the school day for professional collaboration. Your significant efforts ensure we are well prepared for our students throughout the year.

The extra-curricular and co-curricular experiences of our athletes, club members and program participants enhance our students’ capabilities and their college and career preparedness. We thank our club and program sponsors and coaches for making these experiences possible. We congratulate our Region 2AA Championship football team for their success and wish our other athletic programs continued success this year.

On behalf of Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Coach Rusty Kea and Assistant Principal/Testing Coordinator Mr. Brandon Andrews, thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to browse our pages to familiarize yourself with our programs and activities. If we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
