Dear Students and Parents,
As school begins, I would like to welcome you to Math Connections. My name is Ms. Black, and I am looking forward to teaching this year. One thing we will really enjoy is the use of computers in our classroom to facilitate learning. Together, we will learn, grow, and achieve in math.
In order to succeed, please be aware of the procedures, rules, and student incentives in the classroom. We will review these the first day of school.
Classroom procedures are the proper ways to manage our learning environment. For example, we will talk about how to move around the classroom. First, move only after you receive permission.Second, move quietly and directly to your spot. Other important procedures include what to do during entrance, instruction, and dismissal.
Classroom rules are the other piece to ensure a safe learning environment. Rules have consequences so it is important that you are aware of the following rules which will be posted on the classroom wall:
- Follow the rules in the handbook.
- Keep arms, legs, and objects to yourself.
- Raise your hand to talk.
Please make sure to sign and return the signature sheet found inside each handbook. Violation of handbook rules and classroom rules will result in the following consequences:
- Verbal Warning
- Written Notice
- Parent Contact
- Office Referral
When students excel in following the classroom procedures and rules, we enjoy the success of academic growth! The following student incentives will be given as privileges to those who follow the rules:
- Line Leader
- Student Greeter
- Office Runner
I am very excited to meet you all soon!
