7th Grade Life Science

Course Description: This course provides students with a comprehensive, intensive study of living things (biology).  Topics of study include cells, heredity, evolution, classification, ecology, and human body systems.

 

Textbook:  Georgia Life Science Explorer.  Prentice Hall, 2009.  Access the Online Student Edition, activities, homework help, and self-check quizzes at www.PHSchool.com. (At the beginning of each chapter in the textbook, a Web Code is given. The Online Vocabulary Builder and Crossword Puzzle are especially useful.

Attendance/Makeup Policy: Students must take responsibility to find out what work they missed.  Students will be allowed five days to complete the assignments.   Tests are announced well in advance of completion of unit of study. 

 

Homework and Daily Assignments

*Students will complete a journal entry daily. This will count as part of the classwork grade.

 *Students are expected to complete all daily and homework assignments on time.

 

Behavior Management Plan:

  1. Verbal warning
  2. Lunch Detention
  3. Contact parent
  4. Parent/Teacher conference with Mr. Joiner, Mrs. Edenfield, Mr. Groeper, and/or Mrs. Kraus
