I have been a Social Studies teacher at SHS since 2007 and a certified teacher since 2002. Prior to SHS, I served as a school coordinator/social worker for the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home located here in Emanuel County. In 2013, I was named SHS/Emanuel County STAR Teacher and SHS/Emanuel County Teacher of the Year in 2015.
Born in Swainsboro, but raised in Maryland and Arizona, I returned to my hometown in 1995. My experiences with other cultures, people, and places have made me appreciate working and living in a more rural, slow-paced environment. My husband and I have two children who attend school in Swainsboro.
I am the chairperson of the Social Studies Department and a member of the Organizational Management Team. I am the Senior Class Sponsor which includes coordinating the graduation ceremony each year. I currently teach 12th grade Economics and enjoy being able to lead young people on a journey to learn about the real life that awaits them after high school.
