My name is Karen Claxton and I am a graduate of Emanuel County Schools. After graduating from SHS, I attended Mercer University in Macon, GA where I studied math and chemistry and received a BA in Early Childhood Education. Later, I received an M.Ed in School Psychology from Georgia Southern University. I have been teaching for over 20 years in grades one, three, four and five.
I am married to Ron Claxton, and we have three children. Our two daughters are in college and our son attends SMS. We live on a farm with goats, sheep, cows, chickens and guineas. Farm animals take up a lot of our time! In the free time that I do manage to find, I enjoy spending time with family and watching baseball and softball.
