End of Year Information

Exams/Standardized Test

Due to a waiver from the Georgia Department of Education, all state-required spring assessments and standardized tests have been canceled for this school year. This includes the following tests: Georgia Milestones (also known as End of Grade - EOG - Assessments for elementary and middle grades and End of Course - EOC - Assessments for high schools); GKIDS 2.0; Georgia Alternate Assessment (GAA) 2.0; and National Assessment for Educational Progress (NAEP).


Food Distribution

School Food Service will continue pickup points throughout the county providing breakfast and lunch bags through the month of June. See route schedule for times and locations.



The Board of Education has tentatively set the following dates and times for graduation ceremonies at each high school location. Limitations may need to be made to follow CDC guidelines. More information will be forthcoming as the date nears.

HB 251/School Transfer

Information will be posted on the school district's webpage as well as in the Forest Blade on Wednesday, May 13. Applications will be available beginning on May 13th and last for 14 days. Applications must be mailed to the Emanuel County Board of Education, 201 North Main Street, Swainsboro, GA 30401. All mailings must be postmarked before June 1 to be eligible.


Honor Celebrations/Programs

Each school will recognize their students virtually. Please stay tuned to your school's website and social media regarding updates.


Material/Textbook/Library Book Return

Beginning Monday, May 11, schools will be requesting students/parents to return all school property; such as but not limited to textbooks, library books, other school materials, etc.



School Nurses will contact parents whose children have medication left at school and schedule a time for pickup. Medication not picked up by May 22, 2020 will be properly disposed.


Phone Lines - Central Office

Phone lines for the Central Office will resume on Monday, May 4, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily through May 22, 2020. Before May 22, 2020 a decision will be made whether to continue this schedule or expand the time frame. The Central Office will remain closed to the public.


Phone Lines - Schools

Phone lines for all school locations will resume on Monday, May 11, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily through May 22, 2020. Before May 22, 2020 a decision will be made whether to continue this schedule or expand the time frame. All schools will remain closed to the public.



Teachers will be in contact with parents if there are plans for your child to be retained for next school year.



School proms have been canceled at this time.



School sponsors are currently processing refunds for events and activities that did not take place. All refunds will be finalized by May 15th. If there are questions regarding refunds, please contact your child's school beginning May 11th.


Students new to the Emanuel County School District for the 2020-2021 school year, including those entering Pre-K and Kindergarten, can begin the registration process by contacting your child's zoned school beginning on May 11th Office staff will ask for basic enrollment information over the phone. If you are able to fax or email requested information that will expedite the enrollment process. When schools reopen at a later date, parents and/or legal guardians will have to bring those documents in person to the school for verification. Additional information can be found on the district website or click on the link.


Report Cards

Third nine weeks' report cards were available for pickup on Monday, April 27 at each school locations. Year end report cards will be available for pickup Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22. Any report cards not picked up by Friday, May 22 will be mailed to the address on file at your child's school.


School Return

Emanuel County Schools is planning a regular start to next school year with teachers reporting on July 27· 2020. Students first day on Monday, August 3, 2020. Start dates will be confirmed as directed by federal and state agencies.


Student Possessions

Students who have left items at school before school closures will be available for pick up on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22.                                                                                             -



Final transcripts will be sent to colleges using GA Futures. Unofficial transcripts can be emailed by the school counselor to the students or to a specific recipient as requested by a student. Official transcripts may take more time and will be sent by the U.S. mail service. Please contact your counselor for transcript requests.



School yearbooks are tentatively planned to be available for pickup on May 21 and May 22 with report card distribution.
