Transportation Notice

The schools in Emanuel County are “Strengthening our community one student at a time. ”For this to become a reality, it is critical that we…school personnel, parents, citizens and students…work together to ensure the very best educational experiences possible within a safe and pleasant environment. We are fortunate to be able to offer transportation to those students. We hope your child will take advantage of this opportunity.

Transportation of students is one of the most important areas of the system and Emanuel County has been most fortunate not to have had any serious accidents. Our bus drivers have a tough job! They are responsible for the safety of your child. We know you are concerned about that safety. Therefore, we need to ask for full cooperation from you and your child assuring that all rules and regulations of student conduct on the bus be strictly followed. Most students’ behavior on the bus is acceptable and is conductive to good safety practices; however, we feel the expectations should be re-emphasized.

Riding a school bus is a privilege! This privilege will be available to your child as long as he/she accepts the responsibility of abiding by the safety rules and regulations. However, this privilege may be taken away if your child’s behavior violates the Student Code of Conduct rules and regulations. We hope this point is never reached for any student.

We want to ensure your child returns home safely! We need your support, cooperation and assistance. We look forward to a successful and safe school year.

  • Your child will be dropped off at the address provided by the school office.
  • You will be responsible for writing a note with your signature requesting a different location for your child to be dropped off. This location must be written as regular scheduled bus stop.
  • Student discipline procedures will be enforced.

If you have any questions or concerns relative to transportation, please feel free to discuss them with your bus driver. Please arrange a time other than during the driver’s working hours. You may also, discuss concerns with Bill Overstreet, Bus Shop Manager, at (478) 419-1185 or Rusty Kea, Director of Transportation, at 237-6674, or your child’s principal.
